Shayla Burks

Shayla Burks, PHR - Senior Director of Finance & Administration

Shayla Burks is the Senior Director of Finance & Administration for STR Marketplace.  Shayla is responsible for all accounting, human resources and office administration for the corporate office in Houston, TX.  She is the longest tenured employee with STR, having joined the company in 2007.

Shayla has played a key role in guiding the company through its growth over the last several years.  In addition to the fiscal management of a company that has processed over $48 Million in sales over the last five years, Shayla has overseen a recent office expansion and managed the needs of a staff that has more than doubled in the last two years.

Shayla earned her Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University, graduating Cum Laude.  While at Tulane, she was awarded Special Newcomb Scholar honors for her achievements in undergraduate research.   Shayla earned her Master of Science from Texas Women’s University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.  Shayla also earned a Human Resources Certificate from Rice University and holds a certification as a Professional in Human Resources.  She is a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, Beta Phi Mu Honor Society and Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity.

Shayla is a native Houstonian and avid Houston Astros fan.  She currently resides in Houston, TX.
